I came to Foothill by choice, I was not forced. I had a few other choices, but I came to Foothill for these reasons
I had three choices for high school: Buena, Ventura, and Foothill Tech. My parents said they would let me choose which high school I wanted to go to, but they encouraged me to go to Foothill.
In my head, I thought, “Hey, I should go to Foothill, it’s better for my education,” but my heart was telling me to go to Buena to be with my friends. In my early years, from kindergarten to 6th grade, I showed great promise for being a smart child. I did all my work, and did it well. The problem was that I had very few friends. Now that I’m older, I want to have an actual social life, to be with the people that make me happy, so in my heart, Buena was the way to go, but my head said different. In my head I thought, “School is a place for education, not for socializing, and an education is what you need to be successful in life.” And now, it’s either keep my grades up, or have a social life, because now-a-days, I’m not the best student around. I want to have a social life, to be with my real friends, but they have gone off to different schools. And now I’m stuck with the question “Did I make the right choice?”
For research on the school, I turned to my friends who were already in high school, asking them what school they thought was best. Foothill was the most recommended, and since I need an education, I filled out an application, and a few months later, got a letter of acceptance in the mail.
Now here I am, writing out to you about the story of my choice on why I came to Foothill, and so far, things are going rather mediocre.
